In April 2004 a new 50:50 partnership was formed between UK Land Estates and the North East of England's regional development agency, ONE NorthEast.
Known as 'Buildings for Business' the partnership an extensive property portfolio stretching from Ashington in the North to Middlesbrough in the South, and includes 1,500 properties on 20 estates. The partnership holds and manages the investment portfolio and is investing substantial resources to regenerate the properties and estates, providing high quality business accommodation throughout the region.
In 2007 Buildings for Business will begin work on six brownfield sites across the region, providing investment and approximately 400 jobs across the portfolio and the region.
